Quantum computing startup RhymeQ has officially launched, securing $2.2 million in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by Ground State Ventures, with additional backing from Vanagon Ventures, Plug and Play, and Freiraum Ventures. The company intends to use these funds to grow its engineering team, enhance its enterprise platform, and foster a global developer community.
Founded in 2026 by Daniel Volz, Tamás Varga, and Christina Wu, the startup aims to lower the barrier to entry for quantum programming. Its platform, Rhyme, provides an abstraction layer that allows developers with standard Python skills to write and debug code for quantum systems. This approach removes the requirement for specialized knowledge in quantum physics, which is currently a significant bottleneck for industry adoption.
The Rhyme platform is designed to be hardware-agnostic, supporting multiple quantum processors to reduce reliance on single providers. Furthermore, RhymeQ is a member of NVIDIA Inception and maintains compatibility with the CUDA-Q platform. This integration enables the execution of code on both GPU-accelerated quantum simulators and various quantum hardware systems, facilitating broader access to complex computational tasks.
