RhymeQ, a startup focused on quantum computing software, has secured $2.2 million in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by Ground State Ventures, with participation from Vanagon Ventures, Plug and Play, and Freiraum Ventures. The company plans to use the capital to expand its engineering team, develop an enterprise platform, and build a developer community.

Founded in 2026 by Daniel Volz, Tamás Varga, and Christina Wu, the company operates offices in Karlsruhe and Zürich. The team currently consists of six full-time employees, with a seventh staff member joining in November. The startup aims to address the shortage of quantum programming expertise by allowing developers to write code in Python, which is then compiled for quantum hardware.

The Rhyme technology acts as an abstraction layer, enabling code to run on various quantum processors without requiring hardware-specific knowledge. It supports compilation to NVIDIA’s CUDA-Q platform. According to Grand View Research, the quantum software market is projected to reach $2.51 billion by 2030, with an annual growth rate of 18.5% starting from 2024.
