Goldman Sachs has launched a dedicated engineering hub in Bellevue, Washington, on September 8. The facility focuses on artificial intelligence and cloud transformation, marking the bank's first engineering-specific site in the Pacific Northwest region.

The new office will initially accommodate over 125 employees. Globally, Goldman Sachs employs more than 12,000 engineers, which constitutes approximately 25% of its total workforce. The firm maintains an annual technology budget of roughly $6 billion.

The Bellevue site joins an existing network of engineering hubs in Warsaw, Bengaluru, and Salt Lake City. These locations collectively host 45% of the company's global staff. In 2025, the bank processed over one million applications from experienced professionals.

The hub supports the 'One GS' operational model, which centralizes AI development for client onboarding, risk management, and sales. This framework allows technical improvements to be implemented across the entire organization simultaneously.

The bank is adjusting its hiring strategy as AI tools enhance internal productivity. While Goldman Sachs continues to recruit thousands of interns and graduates annually, the focus is shifting toward data science and engineering roles over traditional finance positions.
