Italian deeptech startup Ganiga has secured €2.5 million in total funding. This amount includes €1.5 million from an equity round led by Vivenda, with support from NextSTEP and angel investors, plus €1 million from the Smart and Start Italia program.

Founded by Nicolas Zeoli in Pisa, Ganiga creates systems using AI, robotics, and computer vision. The company has already installed over 300 robotic sorting devices in airports, shopping centers, and businesses across Italy, Japan, Australia, and Europe.

The startup recently launched HooolyFood, an AI system that monitors food waste via cameras without manual weighing. The technology is currently used in operations serving over 30,000 meals daily, providing data to optimize purchasing and menu planning.

Ganiga intends to use the new capital to grow its technical and commercial teams, enhance its data platform, and scale HooolyFood. The company plans to expand from contract catering into hotels and event services to meet new EU food waste reduction targets.
