Plinto, a Copenhagen-based startup, secured €2.9 million in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by People Ventures and Emblem, with additional support from a group of business angels.
Founded in early 2025 by Nermina Suljevic, Jakob Nielsen, and Sebastian Rehnby, the company develops AI agents designed to automate the detection and resolution of financial discrepancies. The team includes alumni from Peakon, a platform previously acquired by Workday.
The platform integrates with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central, Xero, and Visma, and connects to over 2,700 banks. It supports order-to-cash and procure-to-pay workflows, processing data exclusively within the EU without using it to train AI models.
Plinto's agents monitor transactions in real time to identify issues like duplicate invoices or incorrect pricing. The company reports that one customer identified approximately 430 deviations per month using the software.
The startup intends to use the new capital to accelerate product development and expand its operations beyond Denmark. The company currently serves clients in sectors including logistics, real estate, and food production.
