The Russian MC-21 aircraft features a wider fuselage compared to the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. This design change provides more space in the cabin, larger overhead bins, and bigger windows for passengers.
The wider aisle allows passengers and flight attendants to pass each other even when a service cart is present. According to the United Aircraft Corporation, this layout facilitates faster boarding, deplaning, and aircraft turnaround times.
The cabin pressure in the MC-21 is set to an equivalent altitude of approximately 1800 meters. This is lower than the 2200 to 2300 meters found in competing models, which helps reduce ear discomfort and physical strain during flight.
A new climate control system, developed in partnership with the Teploobmennik enterprise, manages cabin temperature and humidity. The system is designed to minimize dryness and stuffiness throughout the flight.
