The Intyre R&D center, part of the Cordiant holding, has accelerated its product development process by implementing a new calculation and design system called the Virtual Proving Ground. This initiative has enabled the company to increase the number of new tire models launched annually by four times compared to the 2018–2022 period.

The development process now utilizes 2D and 3D modeling to simulate tire behavior. Engineers create digital models that account for material distribution, hyperelastic properties of rubber compounds, and tread patterns. These simulations allow for the assessment of static and dynamic properties, including durability, rolling resistance, and hydroplaning speed, before physical production.

The Virtual Proving Ground project allows engineers to simulate laboratory and road tests on a computer. The system incorporates vehicle suspension data and track configurations to evaluate how specific tire designs and rubber formulations perform under various load conditions. The company plans to collaborate with universities and engineering centers to develop digital models of various vehicle types.

Cordiant reported that it held a 30% market share in passenger tire production for the first half of 2026. CEO Dmitry Gorbachev stated that the adoption of these advanced simulation technologies has significantly improved development accuracy and reduced the time required to bring new product lines to market.
