Vladislav, a construction engineer with over 12 years of experience, developed the mobile application Simulatra. The app replaces a human user with a 3D avatar in real-time using local neural networks on a smartphone, eliminating the need for cloud processing.
The development process took 12 months. The creator initially attempted to use Android Studio but switched to the Unity engine to handle high-performance 3D rendering and cross-platform compatibility. The project utilizes MediaPipe models for body, face, and hand tracking.
Simulatra requires devices released after 2021–2022. Performance tests show 32–35 FPS on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and 56–60 FPS on an Apple A18 Pro chip. Minimum requirements include 4 GB of RAM and Android 9 or iOS 15.
The app was released on the App Store on October 19 and on Google Play on October 31. The developer collaborated with a technical co-founder based abroad to manage the publication process and account registration, as direct developer account creation from Russia is currently restricted.
The current version of Simulatra is free and operates entirely offline. Future plans include launching a marketplace for 3D models and introducing a Pro subscription model, allowing users to purchase or upload custom avatars.
