Wildberries, part of the RWB group, has introduced a payment option using state-issued electronic certificates. This initiative allows recipients of federal and regional social support programs to purchase eligible goods directly on the marketplace platform.
The payment system currently supports electronic certificates for technical rehabilitation aids issued by the Social Fund of Russia. Additionally, it covers regional certificates for newborn supplies in the Kaliningrad, Leningrad, Rostov, and Sverdlovsk regions, as well as the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
To complete a purchase, users select items that meet program requirements and apply their certificate at checkout. If the total cost exceeds the certificate's face value, the remaining balance is paid by the user. Funds are reserved in the Federal Treasury and transferred directly to the seller upon transaction.
The company plans to scale this payment mechanism by integrating new state programs. This expansion will increase the range of available products and broaden the geographical coverage for citizens utilizing social support certificates on the platform.
