Volkswagen is finalizing the development of the second-generation T-Roc R, a high-performance SUV based on the MQB Evo architecture. Recent testing of the prototype took place at the Nurburgring Nordschleife track in Germany. The vehicle features 20-inch alloy wheels, upgraded brakes with blue calipers, and a quad-exhaust system from Akrapovic integrated into a glossy black rear diffuser.

The SUV is expected to utilize a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, similar to the latest Golf R, delivering 328 hp and 420 Nm of torque. The powertrain will likely be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. Engineers may also incorporate a mild-hybrid setup to enhance performance and efficiency.

The chassis configuration includes lowered springs and specific settings for the adaptive suspension. The model will feature R-branded emblems and a color palette including Lapiz Blue Metallic, white, silver, gray, and black. The vehicle is scheduled for an official unveiling in the coming months, with sales primarily focused on the European and UK markets.
