Starlink is set to provide satellite internet services for Vietjet Airlines flights. Passengers and crew will gain access to high-speed, low-latency connectivity throughout the entire duration of their journey, from boarding to arrival.

The initiative follows a partnership agreement signed in May 2026. In August 2026, Vietjet increased its investment in the Starlink deployment by $9.5 million. The project aims to equip up to 120 aircraft in the airline's fleet with satellite communication systems.

Vietjet is currently upgrading its fleet through collaborations with Airbus. In September 2026, the airline signed a maintenance agreement for its A320 and A330 families and previously ordered 20 wide-body A330-900 aircraft. Starlink integration is part of this broader modernization effort.

The service launch follows regulatory approval in Vietnam. In February 2026, the local Starlink subsidiary received licenses to provide fixed and mobile satellite internet services and operate radio frequencies. Similar projects are underway in Europe, where Austrian Airlines began deploying Starlink on its A320neo fleet.
