ServiceNow and OpenAI have expanded their strategic partnership as of October 28, 2026. The collaboration introduces a new MCP plugin that enables bidirectional data and workflow integration between ServiceNow and OpenAI models, specifically ChatGPT and Codex.
The plugin allows users to access business context, incident processing, and risk assessments directly within ChatGPT. ServiceNow utilizes its Action Fabric to ensure that existing security permissions are maintained during these interactions.
ServiceNow plans to provide all employees with access to ChatGPT Work and Codex. The company is also developing interactive experiences for resolving IT incidents using these tools.
New security features powered by OpenAI are scheduled for early access in January 2027, with general availability expected in Q2 2027. Additionally, voice capabilities are slated for release in Q1 2027.
This partnership builds upon a multi-year agreement signed on January 20, 2026, which established OpenAI models, including GPT-5.2, as the core intelligence layer for ServiceNow’s AI platform.
