Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University will supply 20 industrial robots to fuel and energy sector companies. The project is managed by the Industry Competence Center for Robotics, which acts as an integrator between the university and the end customers.

The cost of each unit ranges from 5 ₽ million to 6 ₽ million. One robot, valued at 16.6 ₽ million, has already been deployed at a customer site as of September 10, 2026.

The supplied equipment includes welding and palletizing manipulators, tank cleaning robots, inspection drones, and robotic drilling rigs. The university retains intellectual property rights to the technologies developed for these projects.

Industry experts note that full project budgets for serial implementation typically reach 150 ₽–300 million. The average payback period for robotics in the oil and gas sector is estimated at three to five years.
