Rosatom has signed an agreement with the Indonesian company PT Pembangkit Listrik Nuklir to supply electricity to the North Maluku region. The deal was finalized during the Russian Energy Week event.

The project involves the deployment of two floating power units, designated PEB-100, which utilize RITM-family reactors. The combined capacity of these units is set at 200 MW.

This initiative marks the first global export project for electricity generated by floating nuclear power plants. Power delivery is scheduled to begin five years after the contract terms take effect.

The project will operate on a B2B basis, funded entirely by private investment. According to Yudi Utomo Imardjoko, CEO of PT Pembangkit Listrik Nuklir, no Indonesian state budget funds will be used.
