NtechLab has launched a pilot AI-based video analytics system in Yoshkar-Ola to detect electric scooter riders in restricted pedestrian zones. The technology monitors city camera feeds to identify riders and alerts municipal authorities to violations.

The system primarily targets private electric scooters, but it is also capable of recognizing rental vehicles and identifying the specific service operator. Currently, there are approximately 20 restricted areas in the city, including Brugge Embankment, Voskresenskaya Embankment, and Tsargrad Square.

Authorities are currently evaluating the implementation of automated fines for riding or parking in prohibited locations. This initiative is part of a broader cooperation agreement on digital transformation signed between the Republic of Mari El and NtechLab in 2025.
