InDrive, Pony.ai, and Nvidia have announced a partnership to launch autonomous vehicle testing in Astana, Kazakhstan. The pilot program is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027, utilizing Pony.ai’s seventh-generation autonomous vehicles integrated directly into the existing inDrive application.
Under the agreement, Pony.ai provides the vehicle fleet, while Nvidia supplies the computing infrastructure through its Hyperion platform and Halos safety system. InDrive will leverage its established user base in Kazakhstan to facilitate the service, which will operate within a regulatory sandbox established by local authorities in 2025 and 2026.
The initiative coincides with a broader national push for artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan. Kazakhtelecom has already deployed 400 Nvidia H200 and 480 B300 GPUs in Astana and Almaty, with plans to add over 1,000 units and 1,000 Vera Rubin GPUs in 2027 to support the country's growing AI infrastructure.
