Shenzhen-based LEQI Smart, founded in 2016, manufactures electric scooters, e-bikes, motorcycles, and rideable luggage. The company operates two proprietary brands, Megawheels and LEQI, following a global branding strategy established in 2021. Its products are sold via Amazon, eBay, its own website, and B2B channels.

According to a 2026 QYResearch report, the Megawheels brand ranks fourth globally in the self-balancing scooter market. In 2025, LEQI ranked first worldwide in electric scooter shipments, while Megawheels held the top position in Japan with 2 million users. The company’s L3 Smart Electric Suitcase received recognition in the 2026 Red Dot Award.

In March 2026, LEQI closed a Series B funding round with backing from Xiaomi Group and Shunwei Capital. The capital is earmarked for research into electric-drive systems, AI-based decision-making, and adaptive control. Additionally, the company intends to use these funds to scale its international distribution and supply-chain networks.

The company faces challenges in navigating diverse international regulatory environments, such as speed limits and road access requirements. LEQI previously secured German ABE road approval for its A11 scooter model in 2023. Future growth depends on balancing technical compliance with the establishment of reliable after-sales support in foreign markets.
