Barcelona-based venture firm Masia has successfully closed its debut fund, securing €18 million. The capital is earmarked for early-stage investments in AI and frontier technology companies that maintain a connection to the Barcelona ecosystem.
The firm is supported by a network of over 70 limited partners, including technology founders, executives, and two institutional investors. Since its inception in 2025, Masia has invested in 46 companies involving 60 founders, often co-investing with international firms such as Common Magic, Nina Capital, and Point Nine.
Portfolio companies have secured follow-on funding from major venture firms, including a16z, DST Global, and Y Combinator. Notable examples include Biorce, which raised $52 million in a Series A round, and Prosper, which secured $30 million.
Masia has opened Masia House, a 1,000-square-meter facility in the Gràcia neighborhood of Barcelona. The four-floor space provides offices, meeting rooms, and accommodation to facilitate collaboration between local founders and international investors.
The local technology sector continues to expand, with startups in Barcelona attracting €1.175 billion in the first nine months of 2026, marking a 14 percent year-on-year increase. The city currently ranks as the sixth-largest hub for deeptech funding in the European Union.
