Barcelona-based Masia has successfully closed its debut fund, securing €18 million from over 70 limited partners. The investor group includes technology founders, executives, and two institutional backers. The firm operates as a super angel fund, focusing on pre-Seed and Seed stage investments with ticket sizes ranging from €125,000 to €250,000.
Founded in 2025 by Carlos Trenchs and Pepe Borrell, the firm has already deployed capital into 46 companies involving 60 founders. Its portfolio includes startups such as Biorce, Prosper, and Didit. These companies have secured follow-on funding from major international firms including a16z, DST Global, and Y Combinator.
In addition to the fund closure, Masia has opened Masia House, a 1,000 square meter community hub located in the Gràcia neighborhood of Barcelona. The four-story facility provides workspaces, meeting rooms, and accommodation for visiting investors to foster collaboration within the local tech ecosystem.
The firm has expanded its team to seven members, recently appointing Gemma Torruella to lead operations and Cathy White as a fractional CMO. This development follows a period of growth for the Barcelona startup scene, which saw €1.175 billion in investment during the first nine months of 2026.
