The search for the oldest GUI application compatible with Windows 11 without emulation led to the identification of FREECELL.EXE. This file, dated February 22, 1993, runs on the latest version of Windows 11 without modifications.

Further research into early Windows NT 3.1 builds revealed that CDPLAYER.EXE from build 347, compiled on November 16, 1992, also functions on modern systems. The application remains operational because it utilizes the crtdll.dll library, which is still included in Windows 11 via SysWOW64.

While 16-bit applications are not natively supported in 64-bit Windows, tools like otvdm allow older software to run. Using this method, the REVERSI.EXE file from Windows 1.01, dated November 15, 1985, can be executed on Windows 11.
