Uber has implemented the ChatGPT Work agent for its entire workforce of 30,000 employees. This tool, developed by OpenAI, is designed to handle complex, multi-step tasks that go beyond standard chat requests. It can interact with various applications and files to produce finished documents, presentations, and web applications.
Employees are expected to utilize the agent for data analysis, meeting preparation, and research. While ChatGPT Work is being deployed company-wide, Uber’s software engineering teams will continue to use OpenAI’s Codex for coding and development workflows. This rollout follows earlier collaborations between the two companies.
OpenAI introduced the ChatGPT Work agent on July 9. The technology is capable of working on projects for extended periods. According to Bloomberg, OpenAI's enterprise business is a significant driver of its revenue, which is projected to reach at least $70 billion by the end of the year.
Uber previously integrated OpenAI technology into its platform in May. These features include a driver-facing AI assistant that provides marketplace data analysis and a voice-based interface for riders to book trips using natural speech.
