Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that the memory chip industry is unlikely to face a supply glut by 2029. This forecast counters recent market concerns regarding potential overcapacity and slowing demand that led to a sell-off in memory stocks last week.

Huang emphasized that there is a constant need for more memory in modern computing. He specifically highlighted the role of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), noting that its widespread adoption will continue for several years to support AI infrastructure requirements.

Nvidia remains committed to using LPDDR memory, which the company was the first to integrate into data centers. According to Huang, this technology provides twice the energy efficiency compared to existing alternatives, ensuring its continued use in future hardware.

The outlook from Nvidia follows reports from South Korean media, which previously warned of a potential market saturation by 2029. Analysts suggested that a significant influx of new production capacity could lead to intense competition within the storage sector.
