The fourth Global AI Ethics Forum, co-hosted by UNESCO and Saudi Arabia, took place in Riyadh from September 15 to 17. The event focused on improving international cooperation to advance ethical governance in artificial intelligence.

Majed Ali Al-Shehri, acting director of the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), stated that China is a leading nation in the AI sector. He highlighted China's extensive ecosystem, which includes infrastructure, data centers, core technologies, and research capabilities.

Al-Shehri noted that the current global challenge lies in transitioning from policy formulation to practical implementation within the AI industry value chain. He expressed hope that China will set a global example in balancing AI innovation with regulatory frameworks.

ICAIRE, established in 2023 with support from UNESCO, is actively seeking partnerships with Chinese institutions. The center has proposed the creation of master's degree programs in AI ethics at universities worldwide and invited Chinese academic institutions to participate in this initiative.
