The Embodied AI International Applications Hub opened on October 15, 2026, at the Hong Kong Productivity Council building in Kowloon Tong. The facility provides simulated real-world environments for testing and refining humanoid robots and embodied AI systems.
The project launches with seven technology partners, including Unitree Robotics, Galbot, and Robotera, alongside eight scenario partners. These collaborators provide the necessary hardware, software, and operational environments for testing.
The initiative aims to support mainland robotics manufacturers by allowing them to train systems for international use cases within the region. This aligns with national AI objectives and the 15th Five-Year Plan for the Greater Bay Area.
Government support includes a HKD 1 billion expansion of the HKPC AI subsidy scheme in 2026. Additionally, a separate HKD 10 billion industrial fund is being prepared to drive investment in AI and humanoid robotics.
This hub complements the full-stack embodied AI lab established by the Chinese University of Hong Kong in May 2026. While the university lab focuses on research, the new hub handles downstream testing for real-world reliability.
