Hyperbolic, a San Francisco-based startup founded by Jasper Zhang and Yuchen Jin, operates an AI cloud and GPU marketplace. The platform enables data centers to rent out idle GPU capacity to developers. As of October 2026, the company reported an annualized revenue run-rate exceeding $80 million, up from near zero in mid-2025. The firm has raised approximately $20 million in total funding, including a $12 million Series A round in December 2024.
The marketplace serves between 200,000 and 250,000 developers, with on-demand H100 SXM rentals starting at approximately $3.19 per GPU-hour as of October 2026. Hyperbolic charges a 10% platform fee on rental income and offers point rewards to suppliers. The company claims its pricing is 50–75% lower than traditional providers.
Hyperbolic is advocating for the creation of compute derivatives to allow investors to hedge against fluctuations in AI demand. In October 2026, the company submitted comments to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) proposing the listing of such contracts, including a model for physical settlement where contracts conclude with the delivery of actual GPU time.
The initiative comes as CoreWeave shares declined to approximately $59 in October 2026, representing a drop of more than 50% from 2025 peaks. Hyperbolic aims to address the structural gap between long-term infrastructure financing and short-term AI workload consumption by facilitating capacity resale and price discovery.
