Google has unveiled its new line of high-end laptops, dubbed Googlebook, which feature integrated AI capabilities. The devices are designed to target Android users and developers, with a starting price of $899. Google is partnering with five major manufacturers—Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo—to produce these systems, which run on an Android-like operating system.
The laptops come with 13- to 15-inch touchscreens and offer a battery life of up to 14 hours. Depending on the model, they are powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors, with MediaTek versions planned for the future. Some models weigh as little as 2.2 pounds and all feature a specialized Glowbar for status notifications.
Pre-orders for the Googlebook series begin this Monday. Shipping in the United States is scheduled to start on October 4, followed by a release in Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia on October 5. This launch marks Google's return to the premium laptop segment after the discontinuation of its Pixelbook line in 2022.
