Sony has introduced three new Walkman digital audio players, with prices ranging from $1899.99 to $5899.99. These devices are designed for high-fidelity audio playback and feature the DSD Remastering Engine to emulate analog sound characteristics.
The flagship NW-WM1ZM3 model features an oxygen-free copper chassis with gold plating, which the company claims improves sound quality and bass performance. The other two models, NW-WM1AM3 and NW-ZX900, utilize aluminum alloy bodies with gold-plated internal panels.
All three players run on the Android 16 operating system. The devices incorporate artificial intelligence to analyze music genres and enhance audio quality when streaming compressed files, specifically targeting high-frequency details.
The NW-WM1ZM3 and NW-WM1AM3 models feature 5.5-inch 1080p displays, while the NW-ZX900 offers a 5-inch 1080p screen. Battery life varies by model, reaching up to 40 hours for the NW-ZX900 when playing local files.
