Regional representatives from the Far East, including the Jewish Autonomous Region, Zabaykalsky, Khabarovsk, and Kamchatka Krais, and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, have backed the creation of an AI-focused data center in Yakutia. The project is positioned as a key element of the region's digital transformation.
The facility will leverage Yakutia's cold climate for free cooling, reducing the need for energy-intensive equipment. The site will also utilize local natural gas and energy resources to support its operations.
The initial capacity of the data center is set at 1.4 MW, with plans to scale up to 4.2 MW. The infrastructure aims to serve large enterprises, universities, technology parks, IT companies, and government bodies across the Far Eastern Federal District.
