According to a DPD survey, 57% of Russian online shoppers reported an increase in their spending over the past year. Among these, 34% attribute the rise to price hikes, while 23% cite an increase in the volume of their purchases. Meanwhile, 32% of respondents maintained their spending levels, and 11% reported a decrease.
When prioritizing purchases, 39% of consumers are unwilling to cut spending on clothing, footwear, and accessories. Cosmetics and perfumes remain a priority for 33%, while electronics and gadgets are favored by 28%. Notably, 25% of respondents stated they are willing to cut back on all categories, while 10% do not plan to limit their spending at all.
Consumer behavior varies by demographic: 46% of those aged 18–24 and 43% of Moscow residents feel the impact of rising prices most acutely. Men are more likely to prioritize gadgets (36%), whereas women prioritize cosmetics (40%). Additionally, 33% of Moscow residents are less likely to cut spending on children's goods, compared to the national average of 18%.
DPD's shipping data for September 2026 supports these findings. In the B2B segment, shipment volumes for cosmetics and perfumes doubled. In the B2C segment, children's goods, sports equipment, and clothing dominated, while shipments of electronics and home appliances saw a 12% increase.
