Craft Prospect is actively engaging with international partners in the UK, Europe, Japan, and the US to advance space-based quantum communications. The company is currently developing the OPS-SAT VOLT mission, which has a budget of €20 million and focuses on quantum and optical CubeSat payloads.
Representatives from Craft Prospect participated in several industry events throughout 2026, including the ScyLight Conference, Newton Q, SPACETIDE, and SmallSat. These forums highlighted a shift from theoretical research to the practical implementation and testing of quantum technologies in orbit.
To address the demand for rapid validation, the company has introduced a new Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Space Network Emulator. This platform allows mission teams and researchers to test secure communication architectures and integrate quantum technologies before actual deployment.
The ongoing development of the emulator aims to mitigate risks for future space missions. By providing a controlled environment for experimentation, Craft Prospect intends to support the transition of quantum networking and autonomous systems from laboratory settings to operational space infrastructure.
