Toshiba has launched the Quantum-Safe Networking Platform (QSN) to protect corporate and telecommunications networks from quantum-based threats. The solution integrates post-quantum cryptography, quantum key distribution, and quantum random number generation.
The platform is designed for integration into existing infrastructure, supporting deployments ranging from single connections to complex distributed systems. It aims to mitigate the 'harvest now, decrypt later' risk, where encrypted data is intercepted for future decryption by quantum computers.
The software suite includes the QSN Key Delivery System, QSN Key Management System, and QSN Controller. The management system operates on standard x86 servers, while the controller enables SDN-based automation and network visualization.
Toshiba plans to scale the platform globally, targeting partners in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region. The company previously collaborated with JPMorgan and Ciena in 2022 to prototype quantum-resistant blockchain infrastructure.
