Finnish startup Coherence Quantum secured €2.78 million in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Lifeline Ventures with participation from entrepreneur Marten Mickos.

The company originated from the Quantum Computing and Devices research group at Aalto University. It focuses on developing integrated cryogenic signalling and control platforms for quantum processors.

The technology aims to solve infrastructure bottlenecks caused by scaling qubit counts. Current methods face limitations due to complex wiring and cooling requirements in restricted environments.

The team spent over two years at Aalto University researching and testing cryogenic systems. They have already produced and tested multiple generations of prototypes in dilution refrigerators.

With the new capital, the firm plans to open a laboratory in Espoo, Finland. The roadmap includes developing initial product prototypes, refining manufacturing processes, and expanding the team.

Coherence Quantum intends to establish a standardized architecture for cryogenic control. This involves integrating their signal-conditioning technology with solutions from the broader quantum ecosystem.
