Arda Industries, a startup focused on AI software for manufacturing, has secured $232 million in its latest funding round. The investment was led by Accel, Altimeter, Founders Fund, and Khosla Ventures, with participation from XYZ Venture Capital, 8VC, SVAngel, and Felicis.
The company is led by CEO Bob McGrew, formerly of OpenAI and Palantir, alongside co-founders Augustus Odena, Alex Mark, and Jakob Frick. The platform allows manufacturers to upload product blueprints, enabling the software to automatically plan production lines, select necessary robotics, and generate visual work instructions.
Arda aims to reduce the time required to reconfigure production lines for new product updates, a process that typically takes months. The company claims its software can complete engineering tasks that usually require days in just a few hours by automating complex robot programming and cascading workflow updates.
Currently, Arda serves clients in the defense and data center electronics sectors, including Anduril Industries. The company plans to expand into the consumer electronics market to support the automated production of devices like smartphones.
