The Series C funding round was led by Spark Capital, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Citadel Securities affiliates, Meritech Capital, Craft Ventures, and Energy Impact Partners. The capital will support the expansion of AI deployments in energy, logistics, and military sectors, as well as the growth of the company's research and engineering teams in Boston.
ASI develops simulation and monitoring software designed to anticipate operational issues in complex networks like power grids and air traffic. CEO Phillip Buckendorf stated that the company prioritizes AI for physical asset management over generative or text-based models. The startup, formerly known as Air Space Intelligence, rebranded to reflect its broader focus on infrastructure management.
The company maintains a portfolio of major contracts and clients. In June 2026, ASI secured an $875 million, 12-year award from the FAA for airspace modernization. In October 2026, the US Army signed a $99 million, five-year command-and-control contract. Commercial clients include Delta, Alaska, and United Airlines, while the US Air Force utilizes the technology for over 4,000 operators.
ASI has demonstrated significant growth in valuation over the past few years. In late 2023, the startup raised approximately $34 million at a valuation of $300 million. The current Series C round brings the company's total valuation to $3 billion.
