The radio structure known as Treble Clef, or VLSS J0318.9+5755, spans over 2 million light-years. Its visible light is obscured by the Milky Way Galaxy, and its nature remained unidentified following initial examinations in 2004.
Recent data from the Chandra X-ray Observatory and eROSITA suggest that the central cloud of charged particles originated from a supermassive black hole. Researchers hypothesize that a shock wave from a galaxy cluster collision may have reinvigorated the radio emission.
The composite image of the object displays radio emissions in red and X-ray emissions in blue. The observation provides data on the interaction of galaxy clusters and the evolution of the universe.
