American Airlines has officially confirmed plans to equip its entire fleet with SpaceX Starlink satellite internet technology. The upgrade will cover more than 1,030 aircraft, a significant increase from the previously announced target of 500 planes.

The installation process is scheduled to begin in early 2027. Each aircraft will be fitted with the Starlink Performance Aero Terminal, which is designed to deliver connection speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s per terminal.

According to Heather Garboden, Chief Customer Officer at American Airlines, the new connectivity infrastructure aims to support high-bandwidth activities for passengers, including live streaming, online gaming, and real-time professional collaboration.
