At the Zoomtopia 2026 conference, Zoom announced a strategic shift from a video communications provider to an artificial intelligence data platform. The company introduced a Unified Context Layer, which integrates general knowledge, documented information from external applications like Salesforce and Workday, and dynamic data from live conversations to create a real-time graph of business interactions.

Zoom is expanding its reach into new business functions, specifically revenue operations and human resources. The Zoom Revenue Accelerator (ZRA) platform, which analyzes sales calls, saw its customer base grow by 50% in fiscal 2026. Additionally, 65% of ZRA users reported a significant or transformational impact on their sales performance.

The company is scaling its HR capabilities following the acquisition of BrightHire in December 2025 for $98 million in cash. BrightHire automates interview transcriptions and candidate screening. Zoom also integrated Deepfake Risk Detection into the platform, with plans to expand this security feature to workplace meetings by December.

To support its new positioning, Zoom acquired the buyer intelligence platform Common Room in July. The company now offers 15 MCP servers and various APIs to allow customers to connect Zoom data with third-party AI tools. This strategy aims to target new buyers, including chief revenue officers and HR leaders, rather than relying solely on IT department licensing.
