CDC Victoria, a subsidiary of ComfortDelGro, has selected Zenobe to electrify its bus depot in Truganina, western Melbourne. The site will be equipped to support over 130 electric buses, marking a key step in the city's transition to zero-emission public transport.
Zenobe is responsible for the design and installation of the charging infrastructure, including all necessary civil and electrical works. The project includes the deployment of 65 dual-lead DC chargers, with space reserved for an additional 20 charging points to facilitate future fleet expansion.
The company has already conducted modeling of power requirements and charging demand to optimize grid connection for current and future operations. This infrastructure will support the expansion of local bus services, including routes 170, 180, 190, and 192, which will see 470 additional weekly trips.
The initiative is part of the Victorian Government’s Metropolitan Zero Emission Bus program, which aims to replace 600 diesel buses with battery-electric models by 2035. In 2024, the state awarded franchises to CDC Victoria, Kinetic, and Dysons to drive this transition.
