Yandex reported that drone strikes disabled modules at its data center in the Kaluga region on October 9, 2026. This incident occurred one day after a separate attack on the company's facility in Sasovo, Ryazan region, which caused a fire and a complete halt to operations.

The Sasovo site spans approximately 130,000 square meters, contains over 3,800 server racks, and has a capacity of 63 megawatts. It houses the Lyapunov and Chervonenkis supercomputers, which are used to train the YandexGPT AI model.

The disruption at the Sasovo facility impacted major clients, including Russian Railways and MegaFon. Yandex has not announced a timeline for restoring operations at the affected sites.

Following the news of the second attack, Yandex shares on the Moscow Exchange declined by approximately 4%. The company confirmed that there were no casualties among its staff resulting from the strikes.
