Xpeng Motors has demonstrated the ability to adapt its intelligent driving system for a new European market in approximately two weeks. Liu Xianming, head of Xpeng's General Intelligence Center, stated that this process requires only one ten-thousandth of the data volume used to train the underlying AI foundation model.
The company is currently working with European regulators to maintain its timeline for launching the Navigation Guided Pilot (NGP) system in Europe by 2027. Xpeng aims to deploy the full-featured version of its driving software rather than a restricted variant, ensuring it handles complex urban and highway scenarios.
The system is designed to recognize traffic signs, avoid cyclists, and adapt to specific local driving behaviors found in European cities. Beyond basic lane keeping and adaptive cruise control, the software is intended to manage intricate road conditions effectively.
Xpeng is scheduled to showcase a range of products at the Paris Motor Show, including the G9L, MONA L03, P7+, G6, G9, and X9 vehicle models. The exhibition will also feature the company's Land Aircraft Carrier and the IRON robot, highlighting its focus on physical AI.
