Xpeng has announced a strategic goal to reach one million annual global vehicle sales by 2030. The company expects the European market to account for half of this volume, targeting 500,000 units annually. To support this expansion, Xpeng is prioritizing the development of local production capacity within Europe.
Currently, Xpeng is in discussions with its contract manufacturing partner, Magna International, regarding production expansion in Austria. The company is also exploring additional manufacturing opportunities elsewhere in the region to reduce reliance on imports from China. No specific investment commitments or capacity figures have been disclosed yet.
The automaker began local production in Europe in September 2025. The current lineup manufactured at the Magna plant in Graz includes the G6 and G9 SUVs and the P7+ sedan. On October 7, the G9L SUV completed trial production at the same facility, becoming the fourth model to enter local assembly.
Xpeng's overseas sales performance has shown significant growth, reaching 10,055 vehicles in September, which marks a 100.94% year-on-year increase. In the first nine months of 2026, the company delivered 59,479 vehicles overseas, representing 20.92% of its total deliveries of 284,367 units.
