XPeng Group has officially received the L4 autonomous driving demonstration operation qualification for its Robotaxi service, known as XPeng YOYO. This milestone follows a series of strategic developments throughout the year aimed at advancing the company's autonomous mobility business.
The company initiated regular L4 public road testing in Guangzhou in January. By March, XPeng established a dedicated Robotaxi business unit to oversee product development and operational integration. The first mass-produced XPeng GX Robotaxi rolled off the assembly line in May, with internal testing commencing in July.
As of August, the pre-installed mass-produced Robotaxi fleet, equipped with the second-generation VLA, completed over 2,000 internal test orders in Guangzhou. The company has also finalized the development of its cloud-based remote control platform.
XPeng aims to launch driverless passenger operations by next year. The Robotaxi service was officially branded as XPeng YOYO on October 8, reflecting the company's vision for a seamless and accessible autonomous travel experience.
