Xpeng has initiated global shipments of its new Mona L05 SUV ahead of the official domestic launch scheduled for October 29. The company intends to market the vehicle across 65 countries and regions, developing both left-hand and right-hand drive versions simultaneously.
To ensure performance, Xpeng deployed 660 test vehicles across 25 countries. Testing included high-speed noise assessments in Germany, powertrain evaluations in Mexico, and extreme temperature trials in the UAE and Norway. The model is designed to meet 5-star safety standards in China, Europe, and Australia.
The Mona L05 is a 5-seat mid-size SUV available in BEV and EREV variants. Pre-sales in China began on October 15 with prices ranging from ¥169 800 to ¥191 800. BEV versions offer a maximum CLTC range of 635 kilometers, while EREV models provide a combined range of 1 310 kilometers.
The company also plans to introduce its Turing AI driver-assistance technology in Europe, featuring a second-generation VLA model with up to 1 500 TOPS of computing power. No specific rollout date for this technology was provided in the announcement.
Xpeng reported 41 256 vehicle deliveries in September, marking its highest monthly total for the year. Total deliveries for the first nine months reached 284 367 units. CEO He Xiaopeng aims to exceed 60 000 monthly sales in the fourth quarter through the introduction of new models.
