Xiaomi Auto has detailed the results of a roof pressure test for its Pengcheng N90 Max model. The vehicle successfully withstood a load of 17 tons by supporting six other N90 Max units stacked vertically on top of it. During the test, the passenger cabin remained intact, with no significant deformation of the A, B, C, or D pillars, and all four doors remained fully functional.
The structural integrity of the N90 Max is attributed to the use of high-strength steel and aluminum alloys, which account for 90.4% of the body materials. The vehicle features 16 components made from 2200MPa ultra-high-strength steel. Additionally, an embedded 2200MPa roll cage spanning 2510mm and an integrated hot-formed door ring measuring 3289mm by 1556mm were utilized to enhance cabin protection.
To ensure the accuracy of the test, the vehicle was supported by steel beams placed under the threshold beams, isolating the suspension and tires from the load. This setup ensured that the entire 17-ton pressure was concentrated directly on the vehicle's structural frame.
Various media outlets, including Autohome, Yiche, and Dongchedi, conducted independent range and fuel consumption tests for the Xiaomi Pengcheng series. Results varied by model and driving conditions, with some tests showing pure electric ranges between 311.8km and 517.8km, and fuel consumption figures ranging from 4.5L/100km to 6.4L/100km.
In a 24-hour endurance test conducted on September 10, the vehicle covered 1425km with an average power consumption of 15.7kWh/100km and an average fuel consumption of 5.3L/100km. The vehicle continued to run for a total of 28 hours and 14 minutes, reaching a total distance of 1600km.
