A study by task tracker Weeek, covering 1056 employees across various sectors including IT, marketing, and retail, reveals that 31% of staff are mandated by management to use AI tools despite seeing no practical need for them. Additionally, 28% are required to stay constantly active in work chats, and 23% are forced to use software they find inconvenient.

The pressure to adopt AI is particularly high in the digital sector, where 50% of employees report such requirements. This trend is more pronounced in agencies serving external clients, with 56% of staff reporting mandatory AI usage, compared to 44% in companies developing their own products. Middle-level specialists face the highest pressure, accounting for 60% of those reporting such mandates, followed by 30% for juniors and 10% for seniors.

Beyond AI, employees expressed resistance to other corporate requirements. Specifically, 56% of respondents oppose mandatory public reporting on task statuses. Other points of contention include mandatory office attendance for remote-capable roles (22%), non-essential meetings (22%), and strict adherence to corporate communication styles (19%). Only 16% of surveyed employees reported seeing value in all management requirements or experiencing no pressure at all.
