WarpWare, a Colorado-based startup, has secured $1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round. The capital was raised primarily through SAFE agreements from angel investors and two specialized space-focused funds, Vesper Alpha and Marlboro Lane Ventures.
The company plans to utilize the new funding to expand its AI-enabled engineering platform. The platform is designed to incorporate agentic workflows into flight software development, aiming to reduce the time and cost associated with building non-proprietary software components.
WarpWare currently reports that its platform is utilized by more than 20 organizations. These clients are engaged in diverse space missions, including NASA science projects, in-space power beaming, cislunar operations, and the development of launch vehicles.
The startup was founded by CEO Alex Reynolds and COO Mickey Mathew, who previously worked at Sierra Space. They identified that foundational flight software capabilities were frequently rebuilt from scratch, prompting the development of their automated engineering solution.
The platform maintains human oversight for mission-critical decisions. A specialized AI harness integrates with the tools to perform multilayered testing, allowing engineers to determine which tasks remain human-led and when AI-generated outputs are ready for deployment.
