Voltix, a subsidiary of Vinci Concessions, has launched its first public fast-charging station for heavy-duty electric trucks in Vierzon, France. The site currently provides four charging points, each delivering up to 1.5 MW of power, with plans to double this capacity to eight points in the future.

The station features both CCS and MCS connectors, allowing trucks to recharge during mandatory 4.5-hour driving breaks. A full charge takes between 30 and 45 minutes. The location was chosen for its proximity to the A20, A71, and A85 motorways, serving as a key transport intersection.

This facility is part of a broader investment initiative involving Vinci Concessions, Épopée Gestion, and ADEME Investissement, which committed nearly €90 million to develop an e-truck charging network. The initial phase includes 20 sites, with a goal of reaching 50 locations by 2028 across France, Germany, and Spain.

The project is co-financed by the European CEF-AFIF funding line under the DRIVE-FR initiative. In Germany, Voltix is also developing 25 charging sites for commercial vehicles in partnership with Eliso. Major manufacturers, including Volvo Trucks, Scania, and MAN, demonstrated MCS-capable vehicles at the Vierzon opening.
