Helsinki-based Verda has reached unicorn status following a new funding round of €164.8 million. The company, which specializes in full-stack AI cloud services, plans to use the capital to accelerate product development and expand its compute capacity. This investment supports the firm's goal of scaling its infrastructure to meet the rising demand for AI computing power.

Founded in 2020 by CEO Ruben Bryon, the company manages physical data centers, hardware, and cloud platforms. Its Finnish facilities operate on 100% renewable energy. Previously known as DataCrunch, the firm rebranded to Verda last November. It currently employs approximately 250 people representing over 40 nationalities and has recently opened offices in London and San Francisco.

The company's financial growth includes an annualized revenue run rate of €143.85 million reached in July. Verda also secured a €22 million loan from the Nordic Investment Bank. Earlier this year, in April, it raised nearly €102 million in equity funding led by Lifeline Ventures. These rounds follow a €55 million Series A in 2023 and a €12 million seed round in 2024.

With total funding exceeding €392.3 million, Verda intends to scale its operations globally across Europe, the United States, and Asia. The company is focusing on investments in inference technology and platform services designed for frontier AI teams. Future plans include further expansion of its compute infrastructure throughout the coming year.
