The startup Velocity has secured additional funding as an extension of its Series A round. This follows an initial $38 million investment raised by the company in July. The new capital will support the development of stablecoin infrastructure designed for financial institutions, merchants, and payment providers.

Visa Ventures joined the list of investors, which also includes Circle Ventures and Ripple. Additionally, Translink Capital participated in the round to facilitate connections with institutional partners across Asia. The funding aims to accelerate the adoption of stablecoins within existing financial ecosystems.

Velocity provides a platform that enables businesses to utilize stablecoins for liquidity, treasury operations, and settlements. The technology is built to integrate with current systems without requiring a complete replacement, allowing for continuous money movement beyond traditional banking hours.

The company emphasizes that the next phase of stablecoin adoption relies on infrastructure that bridges blockchain assets with established banking and settlement systems. This approach shifts the focus from the tokens themselves to the programmable infrastructure supporting financial services.
