Cross River has integrated the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin into its banking platform to serve as an additional payment rail. This move allows businesses to utilize both traditional payment methods and stablecoin infrastructure within a single environment.
The integration enables fintech companies to convert between U.S. dollars and RLUSD, facilitating cross-border payments and treasury operations on a 24/7 basis. Users can access ACH, wire transfers, and real-time payment options through a unified API connection.
RLUSD is issued on the XRPL blockchain, which supports transaction settlement times of 3 to 5 seconds at costs described as a fraction of a cent. To date, the XRPL network has processed over $1.3 trillion in total value.
This development aligns with Cross River’s broader strategy to bundle crypto, lending, and payment services on one platform. In March, the bank's parent company, CRB Group, secured $50 million in funding to expand these embedded finance capabilities.
